Embedding Test

October 7, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

The Plug-in that I am using to embed these files is called embed-iframe“. I downloaded the plug-in from wordpress but it would not resize the embedded html frame to my specified size. It had code missing in one of the files, so I corrected it using code I found from a user on the wordperss site. The file types you are viewing here are embedded MS Word Documents converted to .mht or .mhtml format, which are a type of html file. This plug-in will embed and open these file types (.mht, .mhtml, .htm, html). All instuctions are included in the package that I have for download below.

This is the corrected Plug-in (embed-iframe).

Screen Recorder

ScreenRecorder

Upon doing some research for a screen recorder to do some tech support with, I came upon a program called, ScreenRecorder by:  Burak Uysaler, whom I do believe works for Microsoft as a Technology Specialist.

This Screen Recorder is just about as easy to use as you could ever ask for. It records the file in a .wmv format, and also works well on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, ScreenRecorder will work with 32 and 64bit Windows. The program comes with 64 and 32bit installers along with the WMEncoder.

Install Instructions:
Just download the program and choose the 32 or 64 bit version to match your Windows OS. Click on the setup.exe.

Download Link:

Usage Instructions
1.
Select either Full Screen or the program window from the drop down list that you want to record, you can also check the audio box if you want to record audio narration with it, and then click OK.
I do not believe that it works well in Full Screen mode with Dual Monitors! If you want full screen just set your display to a single screen mode. Program windows in dual screen work fine.

2.       Just click on “Please click here to specify filename” to give your video a name then save, when ready click “START” to begin capturing. Screenrecorder will start to capture your chosen screen to the video file of the name you specified earlier. You can also pause/resume capturing at any time. When you click “STOP”, the “PLAY” button will be displayed at the bottom right. Just click it and your captured video will be played by your default video player for .wmv files. That’s all folks enjoy!

How to delete ICONS from the Games menu, in Vista or Windows 7 Menu folder that will not delete by right clicking.

Have you ever put ICONS in the Games menu in Vista or Windows 7 that don’t work and will not let you delete them? Here is how to delete them from within the Registry.

Say you want to delete the Xfire ICON, but something happened to it that it is broke and does not work or give you a right click menu to delete or remove it from the list, well the only way to delete it is from the registry.  Below is the process that will show you how!

Warning:

Do not mess with the Registry if you do not know what you are doing, removing or making changes incorrectly can cause severe problems with your Windows Operating system. I will not be responsible for any damage or lost programs, files or data.

  1. Go to Start Menu, type regedit and press <Enter>. This will open the Registry Editor.
  2. In the editor navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / GAMEUX. There are several long numbers (also called GUIDs) listed under GAMEUX.
  3. Click on each one until you see the info on the Right side of the window.
  4. Once you find the key info that contains the name of the ICON you want to remove, just right click on it and delete that registry entry folder.
  5. By deleting the one I have highlighted yellow and circled in red it will delete the ICON called XFire.

FIX IE 8 CONNECTION PROBLEMS

Internet explorer not connecting to the Internet In Windows 7

I had been using Windows 7 for a while now and then one day I booted up into it and bang IE 8 would not connect to the internet, what the heck. No matter what i tried it would not connect. I check all my settings and my network, I could connect to any computer on my network and the Network Sharing Center showed it connected to the web. I tried setting IP addresses and resetting my router, but nothing worked in IE 8 to connect.

Windows update worked fine, Anti-Virus updated fine along with everything else.

I downloaded FireFox and it worked fine. HHHHHMMMMMMM

I figured out why IE 8 wasn’t connecting to the internet and  have solved the problem, hopefully.

Disk Partitioning Software “Free”

EASEUS Partition Manager 3.0 Home Edition – FREE FOR HOME USERS ONLY

Click the Photo For Full View.

easeusI had been looking for a good Disk Partition software to use that would work with a (RAID O) Drive setup, and well after a little investigating, I came upon this program called  “EASEUS Partition Manager 3.0 Home Edition”. I installed it and gave it a try, well now it is very simular to Partition Magic, but this Home Version is a Free Ware program. They also have a “Professional and Server Edition” Which most of us will not have any need for. It worked perfectly, I have a Set of WD Drives 160 GB each set on a RAID O setup, at first I was a little skepticle, but it never failed me, worked like a charm, I added a 80 GB partition with no problems using Windows XP Pro.

Instructions below:
1. I  had first to shrink my main partition to allow an 80GB unalocated partition space.

2. I then applied the settings and rebooted my PC to make sure it was ok.

3. I then formatted the unalocated 80GB space as NTFS, smooth as a whistle.

4. Rebooted to finish and all was just fine no problems.

After checking the program out some more, I found that you can use the graphical layout to just slide the edge of the box contianing the partion around to resize, of move it from one place to another and then click apply and it will do its job.

DOWNLOAD EASEUS Partition Manager 3.0 Home Edition Here.
