Embedding Test

October 7, 2009 by · Leave a Comment

The Plug-in that I am using to embed these files is called embed-iframe“. I downloaded the plug-in from wordpress but it would not resize the embedded html frame to my specified size. It had code missing in one of the files, so I corrected it using code I found from a user on the wordperss site. The file types you are viewing here are embedded MS Word Documents converted to .mht or .mhtml format, which are a type of html file. This plug-in will embed and open these file types (.mht, .mhtml, .htm, html). All instuctions are included in the package that I have for download below.

This is the corrected Plug-in (embed-iframe).

Delete Icons from Games Menu

How to delete ICONS from the Games menu, in Vista or Windows 7 Menu folder that will not delete by right clicking.

Have you ever put ICONS in the Games menu in Vista or Windows 7 that don’t work and will not let you delete them? Here is how to delete them from within the Registry.

Say you want to delete the Xfire ICON, but something happened to it that it is broke and does not work or give you a right click menu to delete or remove it from the list, well the only way to delete it is from the registry.  Below is the process that will show you how!

Warning:

Do not mess with the Registry if you do not know what you are doing, removing or making changes incorrectly can cause severe problems with your Windows Operating system. I will not be responsible for any damage or lost programs, files or data.

  1. Go to Start Menu, type regedit and press <Enter>. This will open the Registry Editor.
  2. In the editor navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Microsoft / Windows / CurrentVersion / GAMEUX. There are several long numbers (also called GUIDs) listed under GAMEUX.
  3. Click on each one until you see the info on the Right side of the window.
  4. Once you find the key info that contains the name of the ICON you want to remove, just right click on it and delete that registry entry folder.
  5. By deleting the one I have highlighted yellow and circled in red it will delete the ICON called XFire.
